Mr John Simpson

Mr John Simpson is a General Surgeon. He qualified from the University of Leeds in 1994. Following this, he worked in Leeds for his pre-registration period, followed by a year demonstrating anatomy. His Senior House Officer and Registrar training took place in the Mid-Trent Region, based primarily in Nottingham. He also spent time at the University of Nottingham, where he completed a PhD thesis relating to diverticular disease of the colon.

Later in his training, his clinical interests increasingly focused on the upper gastrointestinal tract. He spent time as a senior fellow on the Upper GI and Hepato-pancreatico-biliary Unit at Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand. In 2009, he was appointed as an Associate Professor/Honorary Consultant in Pancreatico-biliary and General Surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. He is a member of the British Medical Association.
