Patients praise his explanations for procedures, including cataract surgery and multifocal intraocular lens options. Bilateral eye surgery delivers convenience and success for many patients, with a painless, stress-free experience noted. Patients report improved vision and a life transformed after treatment.
Following an annual check-up at an optician's it was evident that I had cataracts in both eyes. I was referred to Mr John Ferris, seen promptly and after his thorough examination had cataract surgery perfomred on both eyes in one visit. It was an almost painless experience and although mildly uncomfortable for a few days my sight was significantly improved shortly thereafter.
John performed refractive lens surgery on my wife and I. We couldn't be happier. His video explaining the procedure and options is excellent (and we have shared with others) and face to face discussions confirmed our suitability. Arrangements for the procedure we're all very efficient as was the process on the day with a lovely team at Tetbury hospital. Recovery was quicker than I imagined and John had prepared us for initial discomfort with glare and that full clarity will take some months.
I found out about John's services from a lot of research online and after seeing the patient experience's video on the squint clinic website which gave solutions to every problem I was facing. After an initial call with Carole-Anne I was booked in to see John and had a good explanation of why my eye was like it was and how it could be fixed. Things ran seamlessly from there, the operation day was very laid back and the staff at Tetbury were great. John came in to check everything was good beforehand and explained the procedure again too. After the operation, I was monitored by John and then the staff at Tetbury very well. The recovery time was as explained and I spoke to John in this time too which was reassuring. The recent follow up ensured the operation was a success and I can go back to 'normal' life! The visual difference now is amazing and I would definitely recommend it.
Mr John Ferris was very easy to speak to and answered any concerns I had before the operation. Tetbury Hospital where I had the operation was very good. Easy to find, parking ,pleasant and efficient staff and above all very clean . I had cataracts in both eyes removed and replaced within minutes of each other. The procedure wasn't at all painful and only took a few minutes for each eye. I could see the television that evening and by the following morning although my vision was slightly blurred, I was able to see to carry on as normal although obviously took things easy for a day or two. I would thoroughly recommend having both eyes together as you have to administer drops several times a day and can't do any vigorous exercise for a couple of weeks and as there were no disadvantages think it is so much more convenient. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome and would highly recommend John Ferris without reservation to all my friends and family Tim U.
I was rather nervous about having a cataract operation and even more so when I was told I would have a double cataract operation! I needn't have been. The whole procedure went so smoothly and Mr Ferris talked me through everything from start to finish, for which I was very grateful. The whole team were very helpful and kind.
I can’t actually think of anything which would have improved my recent surgery and follow-up. I was a bit anxious (eyes are not my thing) but I was made to feel at ease from initial consultation and throughout my time at Tetbury hospital; you have a very good team ethos.
The whole process end to end was seamless and the staff made it a great experience. My initial anxieties around the surgery proved to be totally unfounded, it couldn’t have been more straight forward and I felt no discomfort at all. I now have incredible vision in both eyes, thank you so much!
The whole journey from initial contact to surgery on my second eye was smooth, easy to understand and worry-free. The explanation on the website was informative and the video of what goes on during the procedure was not as scary as I was expecting. On the day of surgery, the staff at the hospital were reassuring and calming. When I had a query after the first procedure, I was reassured that what I was experiencing was quite normal. Having both cataracts done has been life-changing in that I have never had such good long distance vision and I am contact lens free.
Mr Ferris conducted cataract surgery on both eyes. From inital contact with Mr Ferris and his team I was impressed by their care, experience, expertise and transparency about the procedure and post procedure steps. I was well informed of all options available to me and felt well supported throughout. I had been reassured by Mr Ferris and his team about the procedure itsrlf from the outset and any worries were quickly eased on the day. Both eyes were treated quickly and without any discomfort. Post procedure my eyesite improved from day 1 and has continued to settle down quickly. I would highly recommend Mr Ferris and team, this has been an first class experience of medical care.
John Ferris made the experience of having cataract surgery as pleasant as it could possibly be. I felt that my questions were answered sensitively and that he allayed any fears that I had about the procedure. I can now see much more clearly and have already recommended him to friends
John is both a colleague and he operated on my daughter. As both he is superlative. To have both a nationally and internationally revered expert in my own area makes me feel very fortunate. Not only a brilliant surgeon but a lovely human being. Rare
