About Dr Andrew De Burgh-Thomas
Dr. Andrew De Burgh-Thomas is a Consultant Physician specialising in sexual health and HIV, currently practicing at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. He has worked in the NHS as a consultant since 2004 and is fully registered with the General Medical Council. His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of a wide range of genital infections and conditions, such as HIV, HPV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and genital dermatological conditions. Andrew is always thorough and listens to my concerns when I have any. He also explains his reasoning and although I know he is the expert this still helps me when I have to make a decision such as changing medications. If he wasn’t so clear and thoughtful then I would struggle to trust him but because of the way he is I am able to trust him because I know he has my best interests at heart and good intentions towards myself and I’m sure for all his patients.
I was given a very clear explantion of the diagnosis, the treatment options and the implications of these enabling me to be fully comfortable that I understood all that I needed to. The procedure was relatively routine but I was kept fully informed of what was happening and how to care for myself afterwards. Overall, a very comfortable and positive experience.
Dr De Burgh-Thomas was helpful and very clear in his explanations, after listening carefully to my case and carrying out an examination in a professional and relaxed manner that put me at ease.
