Are you Mr John Keating?
Professor John Keating is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and an Honorary Professor at Edinburgh University. He also undertakes private practice at Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh. Appointed in 1994, he has particular expertise in orthopaedic trauma and knee surgery. His practice encompasses a wide range of knee procedures, including arthroscopic surgery, knee ligament reconstruction, joint replacement, and osteotomies to manage arthritis in younger patients.
Throughout his career, Professor Keating has been actively involved in clinical research, publishing over 100 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and contributing to numerous book chapters. He served as President of the Orthopaedic Trauma Society from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, he performs editorial and review work for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and is the Deputy International Editor for Trauma for the American Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Outside of work, Professor Keating enjoys cycling, skiing, and playing the piano.
