Mr Gaurav Kumar

Mr Gaurav Kumar is a revered and internationally respected Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon based in East London and Essex with extensive expertise in both complex and restorative adult and paediatric ENT conditions. He is the current Clinical Lead for Ear Nose Throat Services and Paediatric Surgery for Surgical Division at Barking Havering Redbridge NHS Trust and sees private patients at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, Spire Hartswood Hospital and Spire London East Hospital.

After specialised training in the UK, he was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons and has also completed a postgraduate training course in India for his master's degree.

In his current clinical practice, Mr Kumar receives referrals for patients with symptoms of nasal obstruction and sinus conditions. He also offers advanced day case procedures for these patients, such as endoscopic sinus surgery and Balloon Sinuplasty for eustachian tube dysfunction.

Following advanced training from University College London, he is also a specialist for voice and swallowing disorders. Having revised ENT care pathways for primary care and tracheostomy guidelines for the NHS Trust, he is a tutor for the ‘Front and Neck Access Course' and also introduced the ‘Airway Alert Pathway' concept.

His significant experience also includes performing more than 500 cases of endoscopic ear surgery for cholesteatoma, which minimises discomfort and facilitates a faster recovery. He has performed over 1000 ear surgery procedures, including eardrum perforation repair and no facial palsy complication in his hands. He is known for pioneering the use of Narrow Band Imaging in cholesteatoma surgery.

His vast ENT experience of the last 21 years with treating children with tonsillitis, glue ear, sleep apnoea and nasal obstruction. He also offers a new Coblation tonsil procedure which is less painful and helps in quicker recovery to the suitable patient.
