I had a few consultations with different surgeons for a rhinoplasty, but Duncan was the only person that I felt was truly listening to my concerns and tailoring the consultation to my case. He was very thorough in explaining the whole process and also realistic on what would be achievable. I felt completely at ease, very reassured and was confident that he was the right surgeon pretty much straight away. I am so happy that I decided to go ahead with the procedure, all of my insecurities surrounding my nose have melted away and it feels very freeing. The recovery process was surprisingly very smooth, and I had plenty of guidance from his team to help me through it. Everyone I have spoken to during this process has been wonderful and I couldn’t have asked for a better result. Thank you very much :)

I had my primary open rhinoplasty with Mr Atherton a couple months ago and I am incredibly happy with my decision. The results, and whole experience was great. I wanted a rhinoplasty for a very long time, but couldn't quite find the right person. My first consultation with Mr Atherton felt good. It wasn't at all rushed, we had time to talk about everything and Mr Atherton came across very well, he was thoughtful and considered. He let me know what is realistic and what is not, as well as all the risks involved. I felt like I could really trust him, based on my consultation and his results. In regards to my actual surgery, it wasn't very eventful. Everything went smoothly and my recovery was far better than expected. I experienced minimal swelling and practically no bruising. 2 weeks after surgery, I already looked completely normal. I was expecting things to be a lot worse, since I have thicker skin so this was a very pleasant surprise. I could confidently go out at this point, and meet family and friends who did not notice I had anything done! The results are very natural while making a big difference. My nose now looks like a better version of my original nose. I am so happy! I cannot recommend Mr Atherton enough.

I underwent a septorhinoplasty using the ultrasonic technique with Mr Atherton 7 weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience and the results. I cannot recommend Mr Atherton highly enough. I am absolutely delighted with my outcome—it is exactly what I hoped for, if not better. I am completely confident that I made the right choice in surgeon. During my consultation, Mr Atherton was honest and realistic about what could be achieved, particularly without compromising my breathing and while working with thicker skin. He created imaging to demonstrate the expected result, and I can now confirm just how accurate those predictions were. The recovery was very manageable. While there was some discomfort, it was not painful. As expected, I experienced swelling during the first week, but bruising was minimal, which I believe is due to the techniques used by Mr Atherton. My experience with the Cadogan Clinic was excellent from start to finish. Katrina, the patient coordinator, was incredibly helpful and responded promptly to all of my questions. The staff on the day of surgery were attentive and kind, making the entire experience as comfortable as possible.

A straightforward process and I'm delighted with the results: I can finally breathe properly and the outcome is exactly what I asked for and hoped for - it looks very natural. Mr Atherton really understood what I wanted. I wish I'd done it sooner!

My experience with Mr Atherton has been nothing short of amazing. He was the fourth surgeon I consulted with and I booked my surgery date immediately after, confident that he was the right one for me. My initial two consultations were with Turkish surgeons (as this seems to be the popular option) and their approach to my rhinoplasty differed vastly. I then consulted a famous surgeon in America (if I was to do medical tourism might as well seek someone well known) and his opinion and preferred procedure was quite modest for my liking. This got me thinking that there must be someone in England who is just as capable, if not better. After reviewing the portfolios of countless doctors here, I noticed most of them focused on functional outcomes such as deviated septums or standard aesthetic procedures like bridge reductions, whereas I was looking for something different. I wanted a highly skilled specialist, with the eye of an artist, who could delicately enhance my nose for a more refined, elegant look (while still being my nose and not some standard Barbie nose). That's when, on a rainy morning (I live in Manchester), I stumbled upon Duncan Atherton's Instagram. I was pleasantly surprised with his work and the way he presents it. Each case is titled and detailed thoroughly and most importantly includes frontal views. Dr. Duncan is an exceptional surgeon whose skill and kindness made a challenging experience much easier for our family. I had an open rhinoplasty with Duncan over the summer and would absolutely recommend him to someone considering the same procedure. I had been considering a rhinoplasty for a few years because of the slight droop in my nose that I've always disliked, but was also slightly terrified of picking the wrong surgeon, or it going wrong. So I must have looked through dozens of surgeons online, and spoke with a handful in person before deciding on Duncan. The pictures of his work always stood out to me because the results always looked so natural, and I knew I didn't want a copy-and-paste nose that I saw so frequently on Instagram. He was very realistic about what was achievable and really listened to what I wanted (a conservative rhinoplasty that wouldn't be hugely noticeable to anyone but me). I was really pleased with the result when I got my cast off at one week, but even more so four months down the line as the minor swelling has subsided. I can see a huge difference, especially to my side profile, but no one else has noticed I've had anything done. The droop has gone and in its place is a ever-so-slightly upturned tip that I'm thrilled with. It's already made me feel so much more confident when I have my photo taken. The slight bend in my nose has also been straightened which has improved my breathing during yoga classes. The recovery was very gentle - I was expecting so much worse. I had one night where learning to sleep in an upright position was a bit awkward, but there was very little pain and minimal bruising throughout the whole thing.

Duncan made me feel at ease from the get go and I knew his knowledge was unmatched. He gave me a realistic expectation and although I wanted a new nose, I still wanted to be me and Dr Atherton perfectly creates a new nose without losing sight of you. This nose looks like it’s just my nose, you’d never know I’ve had surgery, which is quite remarkable.
