Mr Andrews has been fantastic. From the outset he has instilled confidence and trust, and has been clear in explaining to me my injury and next steps. I’m very grateful and thankful to be in his care.

Mr Andrews was a fantastic surgeon and made me feel completely at ease during my 8-month treatment period. He informed me thoroughly on my condition during each visit and was always cognisant of my priorities as a patient. The work Mr Andrews did on my knee was fantastic and has left me extremely confident with my return to sport!

Mr Andrews went more than the extra mile and probably saved my life. No exaggeration! Not only did he determine that I needed a half not a full knee replacement, which has led to a fully successful and speedy recovery, but he also identified that medication that I was on for an entirely separate condition was 'not good'. To my folly, I kind of ignored this advice at first, but subsequently went on to have 2 heart attacks, as a direct result of this. He arranged advice from a third party who confirmed his concerns and I changed immediately and have not suffered again since. My knee recovered to painless full functioning within four months and now at five months it is hard to recall just how awful it was for the eighteen months leading up to my meeting with Mr Andrews. I am eternally grateful for this amazing recovery.

Mr Andrews was very professional and polite. I saw him following a fall from my Horse, having torn the ligaments in my knee. Mr Andrews was brilliant and managed that I could avoid major knee surgery; and he performed ACL reconstruction after my other ligaments had healed. I felt extremely well looked after throughout. Mr Andrews is very knowledgeable and has a kind manner which really helps when faced with any surgery or recovery. He is a superstar surgeon.

I am only 3 months in from a triple ankle fracture - which looked horrific to me, my foot was hanging off my leg. I was concerned if I would ever walk again or have a normal life. Barry said not to worry and that it was a routine operation for him. Barry is highly pleased with how the operation went and is delighted with my recovery to date. The physios on initially seeing the x rays and metal work managed down my recovery expectations, but Barry said he put "no limitations on my recovery". Since starting work with me in just 6 weeks the physios have been amazed by the speed of my recovery. Ankle range of movement, whilst not at the level of my uninjured ankle, now exceeds that of a normal person. I am starting to walk without crutches and have the hope of doing everything I once did, even running (we will no doubt find out about running times in a few months). I hope no one has my horrific injury, but if any of my friends got injured and had Barry as their surgeon I would be v happy.

Mr. Andrews was the on-call orthopaedic surgeon for Lister Hospital Urgent Care on the day of my accident. He looked at my case and also kindly agreed to see me late on Friday to examine me and see my x-rays + MRI. Also he arranged for me to have a CT scan and addiditonal x-rays the next day. As a follow up I saw Mr. Andrews on Tuesday to discuss his final verdict. Thank you very much
