Mr Aman Chandra is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in cataract surgery, retinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery.
Chandra undertook ophthalmic training at leading institutions in London including Moorfields Eye Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital and The National Hospital for neurological diseases.
Chandrea completed two surgical retinal fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital and The Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital in Australia. During his training, Chandra led research investigating the genetics of rhegmatogenous retinal detachments and ectopia lentis. He co-discovered the first genetic association of the former and has provided the definitive genetic analysis for the latter. For his work he was awarded a PhD from University College, London and the Syme Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Aman Chandra has received further awards from Moorfields Eye Hospital, the Royal College of Ophthalmologist and the RCSEd. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters.
