Mr Okaro's preop assessment was very clear and thorough. On the day, he visited once and was both friendly and completely professional. What he didn't do was tell me how long I was going to have to wait - no real problem, but an unknown wait is a long wait!

The consultant was pleasant and professional, although perhaps a little matter-of-fact. I would have appreciated a little more time to discuss my operation, as I was still feeling groggy when he came to see me afterwards. A little more information about the procedure and guidance on recovery, particularly when I could return to certain activities, would have been helpful. The nurse was very helpful, but having the opportunity to discuss my questions with the consultant would have been reassuring.

Mr Okaro always had my best interests at heart. He understood my problem, and offered a speedy, immediate solution, which was exactly what I needed to hear.

We discussed the results of an ultrasound and he explained why I now needed a CT scan

He was very straight but I had confidence in him
