Mr Mohammed Aamir Ismailjee

Mr. Aamir Ismailjee is a highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with dual qualifications in both Optometry and Ophthalmology, making him one of the few specialists worldwide with expertise in both fields. His extensive knowledge in refractive treatments has positioned him as a leading expert in laser eye surgery, cataract procedures, and multifocal lens replacement surgery.

Following his initial training, Mr. Ismailjee completed two prestigious fellowships in cornea and anterior segment surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and a further rare fellowship in refractive surgery. He held a full-time locum consultant ophthalmologist position at Moorfields, specialising in cataract surgery. During his tenure, he led a team of UK and international doctors, providing them with advanced training in cataract surgery.

He initially qualified in Optometry at City University London, where he developed a special interest in refractive surgery. He later obtained his degree in Medicine from the University of London, having studied at Barts and The London Medical School. Throughout his studies, he received multiple prizes in undergraduate ophthalmology and passed his final examinations with merit. His postgraduate foundation and specialty training were undertaken with the London Deanery, where he consistently achieved outstanding results year after year.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Ismailjee holds the Certificate for Laser and Refractive Surgery, issued by The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. This certification recognises his competence in the theoretical knowledge required to perform laser eye surgery and clear lens exchange procedures.

He has received commendations from UCL Medical School for his formal teaching contributions to both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate master's students.
