Dr. Faiz Ali

Dr. Faiz Ali graduated in Medicine from Liverpool University in 1994. Following this, he completed his Senior House Officer Training in various major London Hospitals, covering most of the core specialties in Medicine. He then went on to complete his Higher Specialist Training in Gastroenterology & General Medicine in South Wales having relocated there in 2000.

Dr. Ali has extensive experience practicing in South Wales including Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport; Singleton & Morriston Hospital, Swansea & Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant. He is also active in research and undertook his post graduate M.D. research through Swansea University on the use of Patient Reported Outcome Measurements in routine clinical practice (through use of patient completed quality of life questionnaires).

Dr. Ali has particular skill in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy and has completed JAG approved courses in both Upper & Lower GI Therapeutic Endoscopy; making this a key part of his practice. He is an accredited Bowel Screening Wales colonoscopists (only 20 accredited in all of Wales), carrying out screening colonoscopies for the Welsh Bowel Cancer Screening program.

Dr. Ali's full time Consultant role now takes place in Hywel Dda University Health Board, mainly based at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest. He is the Clinical Lead for Endoscopy & Gastroenterology for the Health Board & Lead Screening Colonoscopist.

His private practice takes place at the BMI Werndale Hospital. His scope of practice is wide-ranging and & he sees all aspects of Gastroenterology & Liver Cases; providing his patients with expert advice and treatment.

In addition to his busy practice, he also is a passionate educator and involved in training future endoscopists.
