About Mr Mishank Jain
Mr. Mishank Jain is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a subspecialist interest in cataract and glaucoma surgery. He is known for his calm, patient-focused approach and dedication to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs.
Mr. Jain specialises in modern cataract surgery, offering a full range of intraocular lens options including premium lenses and refractive lens exchange (RLE) for suitable patients. He routinely manages complex cataract cases, particularly those with co-existing glaucoma or anatomical challenges.
His residency training was in the competitive North Thames training programme centred at Moorfields Eye Hospital after ranking 8th in competitive national selection. He has completed two competitive glaucoma surgical fellowships—one at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (Western Eye Hospital) and another at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital—gaining advanced training in the full range of glaucoma procedures. These include Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) such as iStent, Hydrus Microstent, ECP laser, and goniosynechialysis, as well as filtration surgeries like trabeculectomy, Preserflo MicroShunt, and glaucoma drainage devices, including the Paul Glaucoma Implant, which he introduced to Frimley Health NHS Trust.
Beyond his clinical work, Mr. Jain is an active contributor to medical education and academic ophthalmology. He is a PLAB examiner for the General Medical Council (GMC) and a lecturer at the University of Surrey Medical School.
Mr. Jain has presented at leading international conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), World Glaucoma Congress, ASCRS, and ARVO, and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications. In recognition of his research, he was awarded the Imperial College Ophthalmic Research Group Medal Prize.

I cannot thank Mr Jain enough. From the very start when I met him, he was the most professional, kind, understanding and approachable consultant. I was extremely nervous about having cataract surgery but I needn’t have been as it all went perfectly without any pain whatsoever. I have gone from wearing glasses since I was 5years old to ending varifocals and now I don’t need glasses at all. Within a matter of four weeks I have perfect 20/20 vision. I highly recommend Mr Jain and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing or considering treatment.
The process was clearly explained before and during the procedure. The operation was carried out as described without any unexpected issues, the resulting vision improvement has been excellent.
