About Mr Miles Parnell
Mr Miles Parnell is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at The Royal Eye Unit, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London having previously worked as the clinical lead for glaucoma at the Princess Royal University Hospital, King's College NHS Foundation Trust.
He specialises in all aspects of glaucoma and cataract surgery, as well as in general eye complaints. He has a particular interest in cataract and glaucoma surgery, in particular minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
He offers laser treatment as well as surgical treatments such as trabeculectomy and aqueous shunts. He obtained his medical degree from Imperial College in London, where he also acquired a B.Sc. in Endocrinology. He conducted research into glaucoma at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London, obtaining an MSc. with distinction. He underwent specialist training in ophthalmology at Moorfield's at St George's and St Thomas' Hospital and also undertook a glaucoma fellowship at King's College Hospital.

I recently experienced the removal of a cataract from my right eye. In this connection I am pleased to confirm the procedure was professionally carried out to a very high standard and in a timely manner. Mr Parnell was extremely professional, courteous and helpful from the beginning to the end of my cataract procedures. He inspired confidence and took time to explain my various options in easy jargon. I would happily recommend him to anybody.

I am absolutely delighted with my new pair of eyes at the age of 76. Mr Parnell performed a high precision implant using extended depth monofocal lenses with astigmatism correction. Each procedure took around half an hour to perform under local anaesthetic and the second one was so comfortable that during the op I even dozed off! The support provided after the op was second to none. Now that cataracts have gone I am not blinded by sun or lights any more when driving. I can see details on the horizon, watch telly, look at the computer screen, read magazines, text on my mobile and even see small print on the medicine bottles - all without glasses !!
