Dr Mette Jorgensen

Dr Mette Jorgensen is a dedicated Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Oncologist providing expert, compassionate care for children and young people facing complex medical conditions. With a clinical approach centred on family wellbeing, Dr Jorgensen works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised assessment and treatment plans tailored to each young patient's individual needs. Her practice is built on providing clear guidance, clinical precision, and reassuring support during every stage of diagnosis and care.

Dr Jorgensen completed her initial medical education at Aarhus University in Denmark, qualifying with a Medical Doctorate (MD) in 2000. She subsequently undertook specialised higher training in paediatric oncology and was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Cancer Biology and Gene Therapy from University College London in 2016. She holds professional membership as a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards in child healthcare.

Her primary clinical expertise encompasses paediatric neuro-oncology, soft-tissue sarcomas, germ cell tumours, and rare childhood cancers. Dr Jorgensen has a deep clinical interest in genetic oncology, leading dedicated surveillance services for children with inherited cancer predisposition syndromes such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator for major international clinical trials aimed at evaluating novel therapies and improving long-term outcomes for young patients.
