He completed his surgical training in Merseyside and trained with world experts on fellowships in Perth, Western Australia and Aintree UK - learning specialist techniques in the treatment of hip and knee injuries and problems.
He has published research in internationally renowned journals, presented widely at national and international meetings and written book chapters about specialist orthopaedic surgery He is also a reviwer for the specialist journal "The Knee".
He continues research to improve the quality and outcomes of hip and knee surgery. Currently running a research study into improving surgical techniques in knee replacement surgery. He contributes to the work of the National Joint Registry and National Ligament Registry.
