Ms Malar Raja

Ms Malar Raja is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a particular focus on urogynaecology and minimal access surgery. She qualified with an MBBS in 1993 from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the East of England Deanery.

Appointed as a Consultant at Basildon University Hospital in 2017, Ms Raja plays an integral role within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology team. She is a certified colposcopist with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and has served as MSE Lead Colposcopist since 2023.

Ms Raja has specialist expertise in urogynaecology, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, postmenopausal bleeding and colposcopy. As well as this she performs a wide range of minimal access procedures, including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, as well as vaginal hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, oophorectomy and pelvic floor repair.
