Mr Lister Metcalfe

Dr Lister Metcalfe is an experienced General Practitioner with specialist training in endoscopy, currently practising at Sulis Hospital Bath. He qualified in medicine with a BM BS from the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth in 2008, having trained at the innovative Peninsula Medical School, where he developed a strong interest in practical, patient-focused care and progressive medical education.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Metcalfe holds a senior leadership role as Clinical Lead for InHealth’s rapidly expanding mobile endoscopy workforce. In this position, he plays a key role in increasing endoscopy capacity for hospitals across the UK, supporting services to meet rising demand while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Dr Metcalfe is a high-volume endoscopist with extensive hands-on experience and provides structured feedback to a large and diverse group of endoscopists. This combination of clinical expertise and educational oversight places him in an excellent position to facilitate best practice among both developing and established practitioners.

Dr Metcalfe is passionate about innovation in training and regularly introduces fresh teaching methods and ideas to improve learning, performance, and patient outcomes within endoscopy services.
