Dr. Krishna Mukkanna

Dr Krishna Mukkanna is an experienced Consultant Dermatologist specialising in the comprehensive diagnosis and management of skin, hair, and nail conditions. His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of general dermatology, with particular expertise in skin cancer identification, inflammatory skin disorders, and specialised dermatological procedures. Dedicated to providing patient-centred care, Dr Mukkanna works closely with individuals to tailor effective treatment plans for both acute and long-term skin concerns.

Dr Mukkanna completed his primary medical qualification (MBBS) at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 1999. He subsequently undertook postgraduate training, attaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Dermatology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Furthering his qualifications, he earned a Diploma in Dermatology and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Dr Mukkanna completed specialist registrar training in South Wales, obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), followed by a post-CCT fellowship in advanced cutaneous surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery. He maintains active professional memberships with the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Dermatological Surgery, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, and the Welsh Dermatological Society.

With extensive expertise across general and surgical dermatology, Dr Mukkanna offers care for chronic skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and complex skin rashes. He possesses advanced skills in the evaluation and surgical removal of benign and malignant skin lesions, utilising procedures such as Mohs micrographic surgery, skin flap and graft reconstructions, curettage and cautery, shave excisions, and cryotherapy. In addition, Dr Mukkanna is actively involved in clinical research, audits, and medical education, ensuring his practice aligns with the highest standards of evidence-based dermatological care.
