About Mr Khine Myo
Mr Khine Myo is a Senior Consultant Surgeon at Crosshouse Hospital, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, where he has held a substantive consultant post since 2015. He graduated from the University of Rangoon in Myanmar in 1994.
Mr Myo went on to train in general surgery at the University Malaya Medical Centre in Malaysia, completing this stage of his career in 2007. He then moved to the UK to further specialise in general and colorectal surgery, obtaining his FRCS (General Surgery) diploma in 2012. He achieved specialist registration with the General Medical Council via the CESR pathway in 2015.
His current practice encompasses both elective and emergency general surgery. He participates in the surgical on-call rota at Crosshouse Hospital and provides a wide range of elective procedures, including general and colorectal surgery, laparoscopic operations, and minor paediatric surgical interventions. He also performs colonoscopy, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy, with expertise in managing common and complex gastrointestinal symptoms.
Mr Myo maintains an active role in medical education. He is an educational supervisor and trainer for surgical trainees and medical students, and serves as Lead Clinician for undergraduate general surgery training at Crosshouse Hospital for the University of Glasgow.
His clinical interests include general and colorectal surgery, hernia repair (open and laparoscopic), laparoscopic cholecystectomy, pilonidal sinus surgery, colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy, and the assessment and management of gastrointestinal symptoms.

Mr khine myo was absolutely fantastic with my son explained everything what was going to be done etc , also a few hours after my sons operation mr khine popped into the recovery ward to see how my son was doing I really thought that was so nice and so did my son ,thankyou so much for the care and kindness 😀
Mr Khine is a very kind and thoughtful man, and has always taken time to explain and investigate any problems that l have experienced through my illness. He goes above and beyond putting myself, family and friends at ease. He always treats people with respect.
Although clearly busy, Mr Khine took the time to meet with us after a recent procedure to discuss the outcome. He was clear, helpful and concise, he made sure we had ample opportunity to answer questions. He has a very approachable manner, and we were very happy with the care and attention we received.
Mr Khine is a very empathetic and kind man who explains things clearly and well. He also has a gentle manner and a good sense of humour.
Mr khine was very helpful in explaining in great detail of what was involved in my surgery and always taking his time to talk to you during his rounds , I have a great deal to thank Mr Khine for as if it wasn’t for his skill and judgment I wouldn’t have pulled through my surgery .
