Explanation

I seriously injured my knee (ACL and PCL full rupture) skiing in February this year, and at the end of March I started a series of physiotherapy sessions with KT, which finished in September. At the beginning I had decided to try to avoid a surgery, to see how I can improve my knee and then to decide about further steps. I am not an athlete running marathons or playing soccer or tennis etc., but I am quite active, and my goal was to return to normal life. And I achieved this goal, and I am sure this is thanks to KT ! KT has been very knowledgeable, professional, methodical, paid attention to details and really listened to me. During each sessions she made an assessment, clearly explained what is happening and answered all my questions. And then proposed next exercises and steps, where I appreciated that she was not too ‘soft’ and her guidance and exercise and instructions were at the right level, pushing me to improve and rebuild my abilities and achieve the goals. Now I am back to normal life, and my legs are actually stronger now. When we started the sessions in March I could barely walked, limping heavily, and going up or down a staircase was a quite painful challenge, and I was not overly optimistic about the future; now last Saturday I made a 25 km walk, walking fast, and I did not feel any pain in my knee at all. So overall, a very positive experience !

I came to Katie with an old injury that had been irritated and had come back. My previous experience with this injury had not been a good one, as no one was ever able to diagnose it and it took a long time to heal. Katie discovered the issue within our first session and got to work on manual therapy along side exercises. She was concise and calm, elevating any of my fears and worries along the way. The exercises were great for strengthening my injured hamstring and were changed every few weeks. My injury drastically improved and is now completely healed, I am so grateful! I would absolutely recommend Katie to anyone with an injury, she was so kind, informative and knowledgeable.

KT is an excellent physiotherapist and shows great care for her clients. I was referred to physio after a car accident which left me with whiplash (persistent neck/shoulder/upper back pain, constant headache, nausea) to the point where I was unable to work. I hadn’t done much research prior to choosing a physio and mainly picked based on convenience of the location (Third Space Sports Medicine, Canary Wharf), however I thank my lucky stars that it was KT who I had chosen. I really appreciated KT’s empathy and understanding; it was the first time I had felt someone had really listened and understood the pain I was in. She is very knowledgeable and explained in detail the science behind my pain, and in how to overcome this. My treatment consisted of both manual manipulation as well as exercises which she updated based on my progress, these started from basic head/neck movements and advanced to strength & mobility exercises in the gym (which was my choice, these could have been tailored to home). KT also referred me to her neighbouring Osteopath, Tom, where they both provided complementing services, which I have really benefitted from. Prior to the accident, I had recently gotten back into sprinting, KT not only focused on getting me back to working full time but went an extra step giving me exercises to support my sprinting and re-build my athletic foundations. I am extremely grateful for KT’s services and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking guidance for rehabilitation or to overcome injury!

I worked with KT after sustaining a complex shoulder from a ski accident. It was really painful and scary. I needed help slowing myself down with my recovery as I was super keen to get back to lifting in the gym. KT has been excellent throughout the process. I feel very cared for and listened to in each of my sessions. KT knows when to push me and when to slow me down. Even through a recent complication of my healing she has guided and supported me step by step. I wouldn’t want to have done my rehab with anyone else. I 100% recommend her.

KT has been incredibly professional and listened carefully to my ailments. I could tell she was methodically trying to troubleshoot where the issues lay and gradually built up my strength. At the start of every session, we would also do a review of the last few weeks and whether I had noticed any progress. I really appreciate KT's help, patience and professionalism.

I broke my tibia skiing and it was the first time in my life I broke a bone and had surgery. I had to stay in bed for the first two months and then I had to walk with crutches. My leg muscles became very weak. I was very scared about the recovery process but luckily I met Kathryn and not only my confidence was growing with every meeting we had, but after a couple of months of working together I got back to running and my normal lifestyle. She explained to me everything from the start, tracked my progress, supported me during training and online whenever needed and also helped me improve my mental state, as frustration and anxiety kicked in after the accident. I recommend Kathryn to everyone who is in need of physiotherapy because she is very professional and a lovely person who will help you get back to doing things you love without any physical pain.

I had a severe knee injury where I had a full tear across the quadriceps tendon at the insertion into the top of the knee cap. I was immobilised for many weeks and then had to work back to full range of motion, and in that time I lost a lot of muscle. KT has been excellent throughout. She is highly focused, intense, and pays attention to every detail. She will explain every step along the way. She will go as hard as you can safely manage, and that is often harder than you would go alone. If you want an easy and soft physio she is probably not the best choice. I wanted a rapid path to full recovery and KT has been perfect for me. She tells me her goal is to build me back better than before, and I fully believe her.

Explanation

I went to KT after a year of severe, recurring upper back/shoulder pain and knee pain. KT was super patient and incredibly understanding. She did not trivialise my pain or my concerns and was patient with me throughout the treatment program. She understood that I wanted to continue my active lifestyle and created a program that enabled me to get there, unlike other physios who asked me to reduce my activity levels. She was happy to demonstrate exercises multiple times and was not annoyed by repeated questions on my condition. KT worked with me for about 6 months and after close to 2 years of pain, I am finally back to normal and have better posture and understanding of my body. I am sincerely grateful to KT for her help on this journey.
