Dr Kathrin Whitehouse

Dr Kathrin Whitehouse is a highly skilled Consultant Neurosurgeon who provides compassionate, expert surgical care for patients with complex brain and central nervous system conditions. Known for her objective and reassuring clinical approach, Dr Whitehouse prioritises clear communication, ensuring that patients and their families feel fully informed and supported throughout every stage of their surgical treatment journey.

Her clinical practice is focused primarily on surgical neuro-oncology, encompassing the diagnosis, surgical management, and long-term care of brain tumours and central nervous system malignancies. Dr Whitehouse possesses expertise in treating primary intrinsic brain tumours, brain metastases, meningiomas, and low-grade gliomas. She performs delicate tumour resections and contributes to advanced multi-modal treatment strategies, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) pathways and multidisciplinary team evaluations. In addition to her oncology expertise, she manages general neurosurgical conditions, acute cranial emergencies, and procedures such as external ventricular drain insertion.

Dr Whitehouse holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and earned Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Neurosurgery. She maintains active involvement in surgical leadership, professional governance, and medical education, serving as an Elected Council Member and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Lead for the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS). She also serves as a regional clinical lead for brain and central nervous system cancer care, working to advance neuro-oncology training standards and clinical research.
