Dr Julian Sandell

Dr Julian Sandell is a distinguished Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine who specialises in providing comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young people. With clinical expertise spanning general paediatric medicine, high dependency care, and safeguarding children, Dr Sandell is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care during acute and emergency medical situations.

Dr Sandell earned his medical qualification with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS). His advanced postgraduate training and professional standing are reflected in his esteemed fellowships and memberships. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI), a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), and a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM).

Throughout his clinical practice, Dr Sandell has made significant contributions to paediatric emergency care on both regional and national levels. He developed the SandellTape Paediatric Emergency Chart, a pioneering tool widely adopted by emergency services to assist paramedics and clinicians with rapid age-based clinical assessment and medication dosing. In addition to serving as a Lead Paediatric Medical Advisor for national ambulance clinical guidelines, Dr Sandell acts as a Course Director for Advanced Paediatric Life Support training, educates trainee doctors, and contributes extensively to medical literature and textbooks.
