Dr Joseph Sacco

Dr Joseph Sacco is a dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in the comprehensive management and treatment of complex cancers. Committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care, Dr Sacco works alongside multidisciplinary specialist teams to design personalised treatment pathways tailored to each individual's unique health needs. He places great emphasis on clear communication and support, helping patients and their families navigate every step of their cancer care journey.

His clinical specialities lie in the treatment of melanoma, with a subspecialist focus on rare forms such as uveal melanoma, as well as head and neck malignancies. Dr Sacco is actively engaged in leading-edge cancer research and early phase clinical trials, bringing pioneering treatment options to clinical practice. His expertise includes systemic therapies, targeted treatments, and advanced immunotherapies, including oncolytic viropathy and bispecific T-cell engagers, alongside specialised techniques such as percutaneous hepatic perfusion.

Dr Sacco earned his primary medical degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zimbabwe in 1999. Continuing his commitment to research and higher education, he went on to complete a doctorate (PhD) at the University of Liverpool in 2013. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves in higher academic positions as a Reader and Clinical Senior Lecturer, contributing to clinical trial development and training future specialists in cancer medicine.
