About Mr John Biddlestone
Mr John Biddlestone is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in skin cancer surgery and cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. He completed his medical training at the University of Cambridge and holds an award-winning Cancer Research UK PhD, alongside more than 20 peer-reviewed publications.
He undertook advanced fellowship training in head and neck oncology and microsurgical facial reconstruction, developing particular expertise in facial aesthetics and in skin cancer excision with reconstruction. His private practice focuses on patient-centred care, with bespoke treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs and goals. He places great emphasis on clear communication, informed consent, and support throughout the patient journey, from first consultation to full recovery.
Mr Biddlestone is Clinical Director for Burns and Plastic Surgery at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, based at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, and is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow. This combination of senior NHS leadership, academic research, and busy cosmetic and cancer surgical practice means his private patients benefit from care that is both highly experienced and grounded in current evidence.
