Mr John Adams

Mr. John Mark Adams is a Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon specialising in complex tumours of the head, neck, and thyroid. He graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2007 and completed his foundation and basic surgical training across Northern Ireland’s major teaching hospitals. His early career included a year in accident and emergency medicine in Melbourne, Australia.

Following his foundation training, he went on to undertake his higher surgical training program for otolaryngology in 2016, developing a strong focus on head and neck oncology. His research in early-stage laryngeal cancer and post-treatment surveillance has been presented at both national and international conferences. In 2022, he returned to Melbourne to complete an advanced fellowship in head and neck and thyroid cancer surgery at Monash Medical Centre, a globally recognised centre for these conditions.

Since 2023, Mr. Adams has served as a consultant at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and is a core member of the regional head and neck tumour board for Northern Ireland. He is an active member of ENTUK and other prominent organisations specialising in head and neck oncology. In addition to his expertise in cancer surgery, he maintains a practice in general ENT and has a particular interest in benign growths of the salivary glands and thyroid.
