Check up after a septoplasty. Results have been life changing. Can breathe so much clearer. In relation to my surgeon, friendly, professional and outlined clear expectations from the start. Very very happy

We went to see Andrew Kelly for an initial consultation for our 18 month son and had a really disappointing experience. First of all, we weren’t able to have the hearing test and discuss the results on the same day, so we were told that we’d have to come back for the test, and that we’d be contacted very shortly afterwards by him to discuss the results and next steps. Secondly, he asked if we had any history of hearing issues in the family. And then was extremely dismissive of my husbands issues, and stated that his surgery couldn’t possibly have restored any of his hearing. Then strangely by the end of the appointment he was saying that if my son needed surgery then he’d be checking whether the same thing needed to be done. Total 180. Very confusing. And quite argumentative actually which is very off putting. Not the interaction you’d want to have with someone potentially operating on your child. When we came back for the tymponometry test the audiologist told us the result was completely flat, and that Mr Kelly would be in touch. Two weeks later, we still hadn’t heard anything. Again, very disappointing - my son is learning how to speak so every week matters. I emailed his secretary and got no response. I rang Kingsbridge and they created a ticket for him to call us - no response. At this point I had initially booked in for another private consultation with him because we couldn’t get in touch any other way. I’ve since cancelled that and decided to go with another provider.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. Assessing hearing concerns in young children can be complex and often requires information from clinical assessment, family history and audiological testing before recommendations can be made. My aim is always to provide an honest, professional opinion while ensuring that all appropriate possibilities are considered. I appreciate that delays in communication can be frustrating, particularly when parents are concerned about their child's hearing and speech development. I was not aware of the contact request referred to in your review and therefore was unable to respond to it at the time. The assessment and treatment of children with hearing difficulties is a major part of my practice and something I take very seriously. Whilst I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, I remain committed to providing the highest standard of care to children and their families. Should you wish to discuss my assessment or recommendations further, I would be happy to see your son again and address any outstanding concerns. I wish your son and your family all the very best for the future.

I was overwhelmed by surprise that Dr Kelly was able to clear up my ear infections , which I had in both ears for 22monthsin one visit!. Considering I had nine previous visits with another consultant at Kingsbridge hospital outpatients without success after the 9visits the consultant referred me to Dr Andrew Kelly. After 22months I was in the depth of despair as my hearing was deeply affected by the infections and my audiologist struggled to try and improve my hearing by adjusting the aid , my left ear by the way I gave up wearing at the start of my infections as I have a 90% hearing loss in that ear, so I completely dependent on the hearing aid in the right ear. I am completely indebted to Dr Kelly for helping me get over these infections , which blighted my life.
