Dr Joe Barrett-Lee

Dr Joe Barrett-Lee is a dedicated Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with a particular focus on hand and wrist conditions. He is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring that each individual receives a tailored treatment plan designed to restore mobility, alleviate pain, and improve overall quality of life. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, with a strong emphasis on achieving the best possible functional outcomes for his patients.

Dr Barrett-Lee completed his medical education at Southampton Medical School, where he earned a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He subsequently completed his Higher Surgical Training and went on to undertake a prestigious specialist fellowship. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Hand Surgery from the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.

With a keen interest in advancing the field of orthopaedics, Dr Barrett-Lee is actively involved in clinical research and medical education. His specialist clinical interests include thumb base arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and upper limb spasticity. He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and regional training programmes, focusing on improving surgical techniques and enhancing the training curriculum for future Orthopaedic Surgeons.
