Mr Evan Davies

Mr Evan Davies is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Spire Southampton Hospital. Graduating in medicine from the University of Southampton in 1990, he completed higher specialist orthopaedic training on the Wessex rotation and is UK fellowship-trained in spinal surgery, alongside advanced international subspecialty fellowships in premier centres across Oxford, Switzerland, and the United States. He gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS Tr&Orth) in 2001.

Appointed as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon in 2002, Mr Davies brings over two decades of consultant-level expertise across all forms of spinal medicine and non-operative and operative care. His practice embraces a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating closely with physiotherapy, rehabilitation, pain management, and radiology specialists.

His clinical practice covers adult and paediatric spinal conditions, with specialised focus in complex spinal disorders, spinal deformity correction (scoliosis and kyphosis), revision spine surgery, and cervical spine procedures. He treats a wide range of conditions including degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, sciatica, spinal fractures and trauma, spine tumours and infections, spondylolisthesis and spondylolysis, sports-related spine injuries, and vertebral compression fractures.

In addition to complex open surgical procedures, Mr Davies routinely performs keyhole and minimally invasive spinal surgery, kyphoplasty, spinal decompression (laminectomy), spinal fusion, thoracic/lumbar back surgery, and targeted diagnostic and therapeutic nerve root injections.
