Mr Jim Pate is a highly experienced Senior Physiologist and Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Testing Lab Manager at Marylebone Health Group (CHHP).
Jim began his career in exercise physiology by studying for his Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA , graduating in 2003. He later completed his Master's degree in Health and Disease at Birkbeck, University of London in 2007. Jim is always looking to better his knowledge, and he is currently working towards his PhD surrounding clinical applications of exercise physiology.
At MHG, Jim specialises in Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Testing, working primarily with clients returning to fitness post-operation and clients preparing for sporting events or extreme challenges. Jim also leads all of the Marylebone Health Group's exercise physiology services. He works closely with cardiologists and oncologists to improve the fitness of both pre- and post-operative patients, helping to improve post-operative outcomes.
Jim lectures at University College London & also lectures and carries out research at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport. Prior to joining MHG, he worked in the NHS, as well as at Everest Base Camp on the Xtreme Everest Expedition as a researcher investigating how extreme conditions affect performance and survival.
