Dr James Wong

Dr James Wong is an esteemed Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist specialising in the comprehensive care of children and young adults with cardiac conditions. His expertise spans the full spectrum of paediatric heart care, providing reassuring guidance for families dealing with congenital heart disease, heart murmurs, chest pain, palpitations, and fainting. Dr Wong is dedicated to offering personalised, child-focused evaluations that prioritise both patient comfort and thorough clinical care.

Utilising state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques, Dr Wong specialises in non-invasive cardiac imaging to assess complex heart conditions in young patients. His clinical skill set encompasses advanced cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, transthoracic echocardiography, and transoesophageal echocardiography. Additionally, he provides detailed evaluations using electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, tilt testing, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing to investigate symptoms such as exercise intolerance, arrhythmias, Kawasaki disease, and cardiomyopathy.

Dr Wong qualified in medicine from the University of Cambridge in 2005 before obtaining a PhD from King's College London. He undertook comprehensive postgraduate training in London and Japan, focusing on advanced cardiac imaging techniques. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a member of the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), Dr Wong also holds a role as an Honorary Senior Lecturer, remaining actively involved in medical education and the training of future paediatric heart specialists.
