Dr James Corbett

Mr James Corbett is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus on knee disorders. He works at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and also sees private patients at St Edmunds Hospital.

His clinical practice centres on modern, evidence-based knee surgery with an emphasis on preserving joint function where possible and tailoring treatment to each patient’s lifestyle and goals. His expertise includes knee preservation surgery using arthroscopy and osteotomy techniques, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, partial knee replacement, and total knee replacement using personalised alignment strategies.

Mr Corbett completed his orthopaedic training in the East of England and was selected for the BOA Future Leaders Programme in Knee Surgery in Cardiff. He went on to complete advanced international fellowships in Sydney, Australia, including sports knee surgery and robotic knee surgery training under leading specialists.

These fellowships provided extensive exposure to complex knee reconstruction, elite sports injuries, and cutting-edge joint replacement techniques. His academic work focuses particularly on alignment strategies in knee replacement, and he has published in peer-reviewed international journals while regularly presenting at conferences.

He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, and is actively involved in surgical education, supervising trainees and contributing to regional training programmes.
