Dr Hu Low

Dr Hu Low is an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in the surgical management of complex brain and neurological conditions. Known for providing compassionate, patient-centred care, Dr Low works closely with patients and multidisciplinary medical teams to deliver tailored treatment plans. His primary focus encompasses both general neurosurgery and advanced interventions aimed at restoring function and improving overall quality of life.

Dr Low possesses particular expertise in functional neurosurgery and the treatment of movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and essential tremor. He also manages complex pain syndromes, such as neuropathic facial pain, post-stroke pain, and central deafferentation pain. In addition to functional procedures, Dr Low's clinical scope includes neuro-oncology, encompassing the management of brain tumours, meningiomas, gliomas, brain metastases, and brain cysts through advanced techniques such as awake brain surgery and image-guided resection.

Dr Low earned his primary medical degree, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of the Art of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO), followed by a Master of Science (MSc) with Distinction. He attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Surgical Neurology, FRCS (Surgical Neurology). To deepen his specialist expertise, Dr Low completed a dedicated fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery in Vancouver, Canada, as well as specialised surgical training in Japan. He remains an active Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
