Dr. Helena Bolam

Dr. Helena Bolam is a highly dedicated Consultant Cardiologist who specialises in heart failure and cardiac devices. With a patient-centred approach, she is committed to delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of complex heart conditions. Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of cardiac issues, including the investigation of palpitations, pre-syncope, and syncope, as well as the management of cardiomyopathy and pericardial diseases.

Dr. Bolam completed her specialist cardiology training within the Wessex Deanery, where she undertook advanced subspeciality training and fellowships in heart failure and cardiac devices. Demonstrating a strong commitment to preventive medicine, she also obtained a Master of Science with Distinction in Preventive Cardiology from Imperial College London. She is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and was selected as a Fellow of the prestigious British Cardiovascular Society Emerging Leaders Programme.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bolam is actively involved in research and service improvement to enhance patient outcomes. She has a particular interest in utilising novel ambulatory electrocardiogram (ECG) devices and remote monitoring technologies to streamline the diagnosis of heart rhythm disorders. Her work in refining diagnostic pathways ensures that patients receive timely, accurate assessments and personalised treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.
