Dr Helen Routledge

Dr Helen Routledge is a Consultant Cardiologist who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of cardiovascular conditions. Committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, she provides comprehensive clinical evaluations for individuals presenting with a wide range of cardiac symptoms, helping patients understand their diagnosis and navigate their treatment plans with confidence.

Her primary area of clinical expertise lies in interventional cardiology, with a focus on complex coronary interventions. Dr Routledge is highly skilled in performing transradial percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), coronary angioplasty, and stenting procedures to restore blood flow to the heart. Her clinical practice encompasses the management of acute coronary syndromes, coronary bifurcation disease, chest pain, and general heart disease. She is also actively involved in research and initiatives aimed at improving cardiovascular care standards and clinical outcomes.

Dr Routledge completed her medical degree (MB ChB) at the University of Birmingham in 1996 and subsequently attained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. She gained her specialist registration in Cardiology in 2009. A dedicated leader within her specialty, she holds professional memberships with the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, where she has held senior leadership roles including Honorary Secretary and Chair of the Clinical Standards Group. She is also affiliated with the international Women As One organisation for female cardiologists.
