About Dr Manish Kalla
Dr Manish Kalla is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and The Priory Hospital, specialising in the management of heart rhythm disorders. His practice focuses on delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care for patients with arrhythmias and inherited cardiac conditions.
Dr Kalla graduated with distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2003. He completed his general medical training in London, followed by cardiology training in Cardiff, where he developed a particular interest in cardiac electrophysiology. In 2011, he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford, completing a Doctorate (DPhil) in 2016 on the mechanisms underlying life-threatening heart rhythms. His research has been widely published in leading journals, and he received the British Heart Rhythm Society Young Investigator Prize in 2014.
Dr Kalla undertook advanced subspecialty training in Electrophysiology and Device Therapy in Oxford and further refined his expertise in complex catheter ablation at the world-renowned Royal Melbourne Hospital under Professor Jon Kalman.
Appointed as a Consultant in 2018, Dr Kalla provides specialist care in catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, device implantation, and management of inherited cardiac conditions. His research continues to focus on atrial fibrillation mechanisms, atrial imaging, and ventricular tachycardia treatment.

I have been under Dr Kalla’s care for 6 years. I have worked with doctors for the whole of my career in the Health Health Service as a Manager. Dr Kalla is everything you want in a doctor . Not only is his knowledge extensive but he explains everything so clearly . What is rare is that Dr Kala actually treats your mind as well as your body . I come away from his consultations fully happy and confident about my condition and treatment but the added value with Dr Kalla is the feeling that you have have been expertly counselled such is the peace of mind as well as body having spent time with him .

MY second visit with Dr Kalla and on both occasions he immediately demonstrated his exceptional grasp of his field, understood my problem and explained the issues in a clear concise manner. After being referred by a colleague consultant between them I left feeling like I had all the answers I needed and Dr Kalla's pragmatic advice left me feeling very comfortable with the diagnosis and treatment plan. Absolutely first rate doctor.
This is the second time I’ve returned to see Dr Kalla. I really appreciate how he takes the time to explain clearly what’s happening, which gives me confidence in living with and managing my condition.
Dr Kalla is a consummate professional who by his calm and reassuring attitude explains complicated matters in straight - forward terms giving his patient confidence and reassurance.
