Mr Gregory Ekatah

Mr Gregory E. Ekatah is a Consultant Robotic Colorectal and General Surgeon with specialist expertise in robotic and laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery, benign colorectal conditions, robotic hernia repair and colonoscopy. His practice covers colon and rectal surgery using robotic, laparoscopic and open approaches, as well as the treatment of anal fissures, fistulas, haemorrhoids, hernias, skin lesions and soft tissue lumps.

After graduating from the University of Dundee in 2011, Mr Ekatah completed higher surgical training through the South-East Scotland and Edinburgh surgical training programme. He subsequently undertook two advanced fellowships in robotic colorectal surgery at centres in Singapore and the UK.

Mr Ekatah is a trainer in robotic surgery, mentoring consultant colleagues and helping to shape the next generation of surgeons. His professional interests include enhanced recovery pathways, technological innovation, research and surgical education. He contributes to the development of a medical school programme and regularly teaches on national surgical courses.

As a JAG-accredited colonoscopist, Mr Ekatah performs over 200 colonoscopies annually, with results exceeding national standards and key performance indicators. His wider clinical interests include bowel cancer, bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancer, endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery and gallstone surgery.

Mr Ekatah is a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, the European Society of Coloproctology and the British Medical Association.
