Gerhard Payrhuber

Gerhard Payrhuber is a senior psychotherapist and supervisor with over 18 years of clinical experience. His therapeutic journey began with a focus on bereavement, trauma, and grief, working at Trinity Hospice in Clapham and with Victim Support Lambeth. He has further enriched his expertise through work at various NHS hospitals, including The Maudsley Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, and The Royal Marsden, as well as in psychiatric community settings, private practice, and the third sector. His contributions have extended to organisations such as One-in-Four and Maytree, a sanctuary for individuals in suicidal crises.

In addition, Gerhard has gained significant experience as a psychotherapist within the occupational health departments of the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London, enhancing his understanding of mental health in diverse and challenging environments. He is an experienced integrative psychotherapist trained in a variety of approaches, including psychoanalytic, gestalt, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), humanistic, integrative techniques, and EMDR therapy. Throughout his career, he has worked with individuals facing psychiatric challenges, trauma, anxiety, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and addictions, and has co-facilitated trauma-focused therapy groups for over 12 years.
