Dr Gerald David

 Mr Gerald David has been employed as Consultant General and
Colorectal Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust since October
2017.  

He is an experienced surgeon in minimally invasive general
and colorectal surgery. He combines specialist clinical expertise with a calm,
personalised approach, ensuring that each patient receives clear advice and
understands their treatment options.  

He has expertise in minimally invasive surgery using
laparoscopy and multiplatform robotics for  

· Colorectal cancer 

· Benign colorectal resections 

· Inflammatory bowel disease 

· Management of groin hernia 

· Management of gallbladder disease 

·  And other
GI surgery 

And in the management of common proctology and other
conditions including  

· Surgical and non-operative management of
haemorrhoids

He obtained his medical degree from Christian Medical
College, Vellore, India which consistently ranks within the top 3 medical
universities in India. He had his surgical training within Mersey Deanery,
prior to completing two RCS accredited fellowships at Frimley Park Hospitals
(laparoscopic and robotic fellowship) and at Basingstoke Hospitals (with
Peritoneal Malignancy institute).  

He also holds a higher degree in Hospital Management from
Keele University. He regularly contributes to teaching, training and
professional development within Surgery.
