Dr George Lye

Dr George Lye is a dedicated Consultant Plastic Surgeon who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care across a wide spectrum of reconstructive and surgical conditions. With a strong commitment to clinical excellence and tailored treatment plans, Dr Lye focuses on delivering high-quality surgical outcomes while ensuring patients feel fully informed, comfortable, and supported throughout every stage of their treatment journey. His clinical focus encompasses complex reconstructive procedures, the surgical management of soft tissue conditions, and specialised hand surgery.

Dr Lye completed his medical education at the University of Glasgow, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degrees. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Medical Science and a Master of Science degree, having completed postgraduate academic studies at Swansea University. Following his primary medical qualification, Dr Lye undertook extensive postgraduate surgical training, successfully achieving Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (FRCS (Plast)). To further refine his expertise, he completed a specialist Fellowship in Major Trauma Leadership, enhancing his skills in managing complex trauma and reconstructive cases.

In his daily clinical practice, Dr Lye offers expert assessment and surgical intervention for a broad array of conditions. His areas of expertise include complex lower limb orthoplastic reconstruction, the surgical management of soft tissue sarcoma, hand surgery, and general plastic surgery. Working collaboratively alongside multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, oncologists, and specialist nurses, he ensures every patient receives seamless, coordinated care. Recognised for his clear communication and reassuring approach, Dr Lye takes time to explain diagnoses and procedure options thoroughly, empowering patients to make confident decisions about their care.
