Dr Frances Hall

Dr Frances Hall is a highly dedicated Consultant Rheumatologist who specialises in the diagnosis and long-term management of complex autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. With a compassionate, patient-centred approach, she provides reassuring and comprehensive care for individuals experiencing systemic inflammatory disorders, helping them navigate complex symptoms and improve their overall quality of life.

Dr Hall has established extensive clinical expertise in systemic autoimmune diseases, with a primary focus on connective tissue disease. Her sub-specialist areas of interest include systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, adult-onset Still's disease, and Sjögren's syndrome. She also possesses clinical expertise in interstitial lung disease associated with systemic autoimmune conditions, vasculitis, sarcoidosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. In her clinical practice, Dr Hall delivers evidence-based treatments ranging from targeted biologic therapies and immunosuppressive medications to tailored multidisciplinary disease management plans. Alongside her clinical duties, she actively contributes as a lead investigator for clinical trials aimed at evaluating novel therapeutics for rare autoimmune disorders.

Dr Hall completed her medical degree and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) at the University of Oxford. Following her academic studies, she undertook advanced research training as a postdoctoral fellow in California, alongside clinical training as a Senior House Officer, Registrar, and Clinician Scientist. She has held academic positions as a Lecturer in Rheumatology and as a Fellow. Dr Hall maintains active involvement in professional leadership and clinical education, serving as Chair of the Eastern Network for Rare Autoimmune Diseases, Member of the British Society for Rheumatology Education Committee, and Member of the Specialised Rheumatology Clinical Reference Group.
