Dr Aicha Bouraoui

Dr Bouraoui was welcoming, professional and warm. This was my annual appointment to discuss my inflammatory arthritis. I was invited to talk about my health, and Dr Bouraoui listened intently. I felt I had her complete attention. The most helpful part of the consultation was discussing ideas for the day to day management of my condition. I was given practical, manageable, simple ideas of what would most support my health and well being. At all times I was treated with professional courtesy and respect. I left the appointment feeling empowered to take control of managing my symptoms but with the open invitation to get in touch if I needed more support. Dr Bouraoui demonstrated all the skills you would want from your consultant, and in my opinion went above and beyond in allowing me the space to explore with a medical professional my own health journey. During my last clinic appointment, Dr Bouraoui was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. She took the time to listen to all of my concerns without making me feel rushed, and explained my treatment options in a way that was very easy to understand.

Dr Aicha is always very professional and caring.

My last visit was the latest in a series of appointments. We reviewed how I had been since the previous appointment. It was agreed to adjust the strength of one of the tablets that I am taking as part of my treatment plan. In addition, it was agreed that another bone density scan (i've already had one) would be advisable given the length of time since previous scan. A request for the scan was made and a further appointment has been made to review effect of medication change. The appointment was on time.

Dr Aicha is a very caring person. She listens to everything you have to say. She has been so helpful and one of the nicest consultants I have ever met. I wish there were more like her. With this illness,which drags me down, I hope she doesn't leave the hospital.

I’ve seen this Dr a few times now. Always found her to be professional, happy, engaging, listens to what you have to say and makes informed decisions based on that. I can honestly say this Dr is one of a kind and an asset to the NHS.

I can’t thank Dr Aicha Bouraoui enough. The first time I saw her, I arrived sobbing. My life had changed dramatically because of chronic pain. I was someone who ran marathons and suddenly I was shuffling and couldn’t tolerate even the slightest touch. Life felt incredibly bleak. I remember Dr Aicha handing me tissues as I sobbed. She listened. She heard me. I had CRPS, something that was life changing, but she gave me hope because I finally felt heard. She carefully talked me through the tests I would need and everything was explained…why I needed them, what they were looking for and how they would be done. She also helped me with medication so that I could finally have some relief from the brutal pain I was experiencing. I had another appointment with her last week and I felt remembered. I think that’s so important. You’re not just a hospital number, you’re a person. I can honestly say she is such a lovely doctor. I may never fully recover, but life has become easier because of her help. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a doctor who has been so caring. I will always be incredibly grateful to her.
