Dr Fiona Hignett

Dr Fiona Hignett is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who provides compassionate and comprehensive care for infants, children, and young people. She manages a broad spectrum of general paediatric conditions, working closely with families to ensure each patient receives personalised, high-quality medical support. With a holistic and reassuring clinical approach, Dr Hignett aims to help young patients and their families navigate childhood health concerns with confidence.

Dr Hignett graduated from Southampton Medical School in 2010 and completed her postgraduate clinical training within the Wessex Deanery. Enhancing her expertise in clinical education and healthcare systems, she earned a Master's degree in medical simulation and patient safety. Dr Hignett is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), where she serves as a general paediatric representative on the Training Quality Board.

Alongside general paediatric care, Dr Hignett holds a clinical interest in paediatric allergy, conducting full allergic evaluations and managing severe or multiple allergies in children. She is an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Course Director and Instructor, actively leading emergency simulation and training opportunities for medical staff. Her broader professional interests focus on medical education, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives across child health services.
