Dr Fergus Thursby-Pellam

Dr Fergus Thursby-Pellam is an accomplished Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who provides expert care for patients experiencing a broad range of digestive and liver health conditions. He evaluates and treats both routine and complex gastrointestinal disorders, supporting inpatients and outpatients with attentive clinical management. Dr Thursby-Pellam prioritises patient comfort and clear communication, offering structured guidance to help individuals understand their diagnosis and treatment options.

Specialising in advanced endoscopy, Dr Thursby-Pellam performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to evaluate abnormalities within the digestive tract. His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, bowel cancer screening, gastric neoplasia, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Alongside his clinical practice, he actively participates in medical research and clinical trials, contributing to the development of novel endoscopic techniques and improving methods for detecting gastrointestinal disease.

Dr Thursby-Pellam graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Imperial College School of Medicine in 1998. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) in 2004 and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2014. He holds a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General (Internal) Medicine and Gastroenterology, as well as formal Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) accreditation.
