Femida Hirji

Femida Hirji is a Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner and Occupational Therapist at Nightingale Hospital in London. She has many years of experience working across both private healthcare and NHS mental health services. Her background includes work with inpatients, day patients and outpatients in areas such as general adult psychiatry, specialised psychosis units, eating disorders, adolescent mental health, and addiction treatment.

She is an ACAT-accredited CAT Practitioner and a registered Occupational Therapist, with professional membership in the British Association of Occupational Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She holds degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Kingston University, and Occupational Therapy from Essex School of Occupational Therapy. She has also completed qualifications in counselling with the Westminster Pastoral Foundation and life coaching with The Coaching Academy.

Her therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), occupational therapy, and other wellbeing-focused therapies. She treats a range of conditions including depression, stress, interpersonal difficulties, schizophrenia, psychosis, personality disorders, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and addiction.

Femida works in a person-centred way and supports clients in developing self-awareness, recognising patterns of behaviour, and making meaningful changes to improve emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing. She has experience working cross-culturally and speaks both English and Gujarati.
