Dr Fatemeh Shams is a dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides expert diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients experiencing a wide range of eye conditions. Known for her thorough clinical evaluations and compassionate approach, she focuses on tailoring treatment plans to protect and restore visual health. She possesses particular interest and training in vitreoretinal conditions, oculoplastic procedures, and paediatric eye care, alongside managing corneal disorders and ocular surface diseases. Her surgical and medical capabilities include cataract surgery, retinal detachment management, dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) for nasolacrimal duct obstructions, glaucoma management, and targeted treatments for rare corneal conditions.

Dr Shams completed her medical education and advanced clinical training in the United Kingdom, holding a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a Master of Science (MSc), and a Bachelor of Science (BSc). She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).
