Mr Aruna Dharmasena offers caring, reassuring advice to patients. He ensures good results in eyelid and droopy eyelid procedures. Patients have smooth surgeries, quick healing, little pain, and feel happy with their treatment results. His practice often involves eyelid surgery.
From my first contact to my discharge I have to say what a fantastic experience. Mr Dharmasena is truly a fantastic surgeon, he explained every step of my surgery and recovery in great detail, he was at the end of the phone or message if I had any concerns. I highly recommend Mr Dharmasena for any eye surgery you may need.
From start to finish our 4 year old daughter was in great hands with Dr Dhamasena. The procedure was explained to us in full detail and all of our questions answered. We had our first consultation within two weeks of making contact, then the procedure 4 weeks later. The procedure went well and the aftercare plan has been great.
Mr Dharmasena is an expert oculoplastic surgeon a great comfort to patients like myself. I will not forget his kind reassuring bedside manner and genuine concern during my 2 visits to complete complicated cosmetic eye lid surgery. Despite the difficult surgeries on each eye the healing process has been without pain or problems and is healing very well. My confidence is retuning and I cannot thank him enough.
I am extremely happy with the results of my surgery with Mr. Dharmasena. He performed an exceptional Lateral Canthopexy; the eye corner lift is stunning and looks exactly as I wanted it to. He is a highly skilled Ophthalmic Surgeon who prioritizes both functional performance and aesthetic beauty, ensuring the eye's health is as perfect as its appearance. Beyond his technical expertise, he is a very calm surgeon who truly listens to his patients and provides constant reassurance. I highly recommend him for anyone seeking expert Oculoplastic surgery and beautiful, precise results.
I had upper eyelid blepharoplasty and the results are excellent. Mr Dharmasena explained detailed information during consultation and understood my expectations. The surgery itself went smoothly and I was given aftercare advice and supplies. Recovery was easy. There was very little bleeding or bruising since day 1. Swelling has gone down within first week. Stitches removal was also pain free. I’m totally pleased with the results.
I am Chinese with one (what I thought was a) hooded eyelid. I was immediately at ease at the consultation with Dr Dharmasena. He took the time to measure my eyes and conducted eye examinations using optical machines. He then drew a diagram which clearly illustrated what needed to be done. There was no pressure. It was clear that he was very experienced in his field. It was agreed that the crease on my eyelid needed to be repositioned (Asian bleph) rather than removing the hood, in fact there was no excess skin to remove. In a different clinic this other consultant offered me hooded eyelid surgery which would have been the completely wrong op. Other consultants would not just operate on one eye as they need to work on both eyes to create symmetry. So I was glad that Dr Dharmasena agreed to operate on one eye and be skilled enough to match it to the good eye. The cost The cost was very reasonable and affordable. There was a consultation fee, the surgeons fee and the hospital fee. The op It took around 40 mins. The hospital fees were very well priced considering there were three nurses and the consumables and equipment needed wouldn’t have been cheap. One of them held my hand incase I was anxious. For me the anaesthetic was just a sharp scratch in the eyelid, which lasted seconds. I opted for no sedation which brought the cost down by hundreds. The only thing I found uncomfortable was the insertion of the eye shield over the eyeball but it was a necessity. Dr Dharmasena popped in more eyedrops in to help numb the eyeball. During the surgery, I could sme...
Read moreWe attended a private consultation when I noticed my 3 month old baby had a lump under her eyebrow. I wasn’t satisfied with our GP’s advice / diagnosis therefore booked to see Mr Dharmasena. His secretary was great and organised a consultation the same week even on the weekend. Mr Dharmasena was friendly, professional and really reassuring and provided confidence during an anxious time that he knew what the problem was and can help our baby with her Dermoid cyst, Congenital craniofacial malformations, Orbital surgery.
Had a consultation with Mr Aruna Dharmasena, he was so caring and really went about and beyond to explain things thoroughly and put my mind at ease. Can’t thank him enough.
We’re so thankful to Mr Dharmasena and his team for their outstanding care during our child’s ptosis surgery. From the first appointment to the follow up, he was kind, patient, and reassuring. The surgery went smoothly, and the results have made a real difference to our child’s comfort and confidence. We truly appreciate his skill, compassion, and dedication. Thank you so much!
Being born with congenital ptosis I had a few surgeries as a youngster having major surgery at 13 using donor tissue, this went a long way to correcting the issue. In 2007 I attended the old Manchester Eye hospital to have revision surgery carried out, unfortunately due to no notes from my earlier childhood and myself not knowing what had been done due to my young age, the surgeon at the time was surprised to find what had been carried out previously while I was on the operating table and was unable to proceed with the intended surgery. He did do some cosmetic work to improve the look but advised they would not be able to do anything further due to the amount of scar tissue from previous surgeries. 28 years later my GP referred me and I had a consultation and was told revision work could be done. I very quickly received a date for surgery which was carried out by Mr Dharmasena on the 20th October. On the day of surgery although I thought I felt fine my previous experiences came to the surface and I had a lot of anxiety with a fear of the past repeating itself. Mr Dharmasena came to see me and was the absolute voice of reassurance I needed to hear. Calm, patient & reassuring. At 58 years old with quite a few surgical procedures under my belt I can not rate his bedside manner more highly. He put me totally at ease, told me not to worry, that was his job I just had to relax and 'enjoy the ride' which made me smile. He told me his aim was to make my eye look as perfect as possible and I can honestly say he has achieved it. He has that quite confidence of a person who ...
