About

Farhan's journey in Sport & Exercise Medicine (SEM) began with his Higher Specialist training in the London Deanery, where he trained at esteemed institutions such as Imperial College, University College London Hospitals, and Barts NHS Trusts. Prior to this, he underwent training in General Practice in Warwickshire. His academic achievements include a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Medicine, Exercise, and Health from UCL, along with a Distinction in a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography.

Farhan’s specialist interests include Paediatric Medicine, Dance Medicine, Musculoskeletal Medicine, Tendinopathy, Relative Energy Deficiency (REDs), Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, Overload Injuries, Endurance Medicine, Performance Medicine, and Elite Athlete Care.

As the Club Doctor for Brentford Football Club and a team doctor for England Men’s Pathway development squad teams at the Football Association (FA), Farhan manages professional elite footballers and athletes from various disciplines including tennis, rugby, swimming, canoeing, and athletics. His experience extends to roles at the LTA, EIS multisport clinics, managing Team GB athletes at the Institute of Sport, Exercise, and Health (ISEH), and at the National NHS Dance Injury Clinic, treating professional dancers.

Passionate about education, Farhan is actively involved in teaching and education delivery in Sport & Exercise Medicine. He serves as a visiting lecturer at the UCL and Barts Masters in Sports Medicine programmes and has led a special study module in SEM at the University of Birmingham. He has contributed to curriculum development for the FSEM Diploma in Exercise Medicine and is the President-elect for the Royal Society of Medicine SEM council.
