Dr. Fabiana Ramos

Dr. Fabiana Ramos is a highly accomplished medical geneticist with extensive expertise in clinical and medical genetics. She obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and completed a rigorous five-year residency in Medical Genetics at the Pediatric Hospital of Coimbra in Portugal.

Dr. Ramos has served as a consultant in Medical and Clinical Genetics at the Medical Genetics Department of the Pediatric Hospital of Coimbra. Since 2010, she has been a Hospital Assistant in Medical Genetics at the Coimbra University Hospital Center. She is also the Coordinator of the Medical Genetics Sector of Prenatal Diagnosis at the Bissaya Barreto Maternity Hospital. In addition, Dr. Ramos has been an integral member of the Reference Center for Metabolic Diseases at the Coimbra University Hospital Center since 2016, contributing to advancements in diagnosing and managing metabolic disorders.

Dr. Ramos is committed to education and mentorship. She has been a Teaching Assistant for the Medical Genetics discipline at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and has provided training guidance in medical genetics since 2010. Her academic roles have included serving as a Guest Lecturer in Medical Genetics from 2010 to 2015 at the same institution.

In her current role at Hospital da Luz Coimbra, which she joined in 2021, Dr. Ramos continues to provide expert care in clinical genetics. She is renowned for her dedication to advancing the field of medical genetics and for her compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
