Emmanuel Stiels

Emmanuel Stiels is a Clinical Psychologist at Nightingale Hospital with extensive international experience, having worked in Belgium, Germany, the Americas and the UK. He is HCPC registered and holds a Master of Science in Psychology. He is also a member of the EMDR Association UK & Ireland and BFP. Emmanuel has worked in a range of clinical settings, including the NHS, where he supported individuals with moderate to severe mental health difficulties as part of multidisciplinary teams. His current work is divided between the private sector and the NHS.

Emmanuel supports clients facing entrenched mental health challenges and has a particular interest in trauma-focused therapy. He has extensive experience working with conditions such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias, and stress. His treatment approaches include clinical psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), counselling, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).

He approaches therapy with empathy and a strong foundation in evidence-based practice. He works collaboratively with clients to develop personalised care plans that may integrate CBT, narrative therapy, systemic therapy, MBT and EMDR. His goal is to help individuals make sense of their difficulties, develop strategies to move forward, and build a more balanced and self-fulfilling life.
