Dr Elizabeth Reilly

Dr Elizabeth Reilly is a highly dedicated Consultant Rheumatologist who delivers patient-centred, compassionate care for individuals suffering from complex musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. Focusing on early detection and comprehensive management strategies, Dr Reilly aims to provide accurate diagnoses that help alleviate pain and restore joint mobility. Her empathetic approach ensures that patients feel listened to, informed, and actively involved in every decision regarding their treatment plans.

Dr Reilly completed her undergraduate medical degree (MBBCh) at Cardiff University in 2008. Following her core medical training, she attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in Rheumatology [MRCP (Rheumatology)] and subsequently gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Management and Leadership from the University of Plymouth. Dr Reilly further broadened her expertise by completing specialist clinical fellowships in scleroderma, connective tissue diseases, and spondyloarthritis, alongside undertaking doctoral research into axial spondyloarthritis. She holds professional membership with the British Society for Spondyloarthritis and has held prominent leadership positions, including serving as a Trustee and Chair of the Trainees' Committee for the British Society for Rheumatology.

Dr Reilly's clinical practice covers a broad spectrum of rheumatological conditions, with particular expertise in early inflammatory arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, and connective tissue diseases. She is skilled in musculoskeletal ultrasound, utilising point-of-care imaging to accurately detect early joint inflammation and facilitate rapid interventions. Working alongside a comprehensive multidisciplinary medical team, Dr Reilly prioritises evidence-based medicine and holistic care to empower patients in managing chronic rheumatic conditions effectively.
